So...I'm Basically A Professional Designer Now

So, my friend, Brenna, approached me and asked if I would make her a mood board for ideas/inspiration for her bedroom. I was thrilled, so of course I said yes.

I had her send me a couple pictures of what she currently has in her bedroom and for her to explain what kinds of styles she likes. The above pictures are what she currently has and she is wanting to keep her bedding, so the color scheme was going to need to center around the yellow and neutrals. In addition, she said that she doesn't want it to look too matchy, but more eclectic.

After several hours I had come up with the mood board below. She once mentioned that she really liked the look for the iron head and footboard. I went matchy on the nightstands and lamps because it gives it some balance. The chest of drawers (assuming the top is an espresso/black color) gives a somewhat eclectic feel and the little yellow chair is just adorable. The fleur de lis represents Louisville so I had to include that.

What do you think? Is the yellow chair too much? Have you ever used olioboard.com to come up with a mood board for you or a friend to actually use when redecorating?

Babies, Babies, Babies...and Cats???

I figured I would give in and make a gender nuetral nursery since the majority of society is having babies right now...but seriously.

While waiting on that RING, I'm focusing on building my prestige, olympian cat collection. Toby's out, but Tillie's still in. The only olympic trait Toby has, is his gold-medal worthy timing of holding his poop in all day until I get in the shower to wash my hair. Thanks Toby. Anyway, the point I'm trying to make is...

Why fill this glorious nursery with babies, babies, babies when you could be filling it with cats, cats, cats??? I mean, I'm just saying...

Buyer's Remorse...

So, this weekend my mom and I went to the TJ Maxx Home Goods store to shop around a little. I am NOT an impulse buyer. I actually sit and think about how one purchase will affect my entire budget for the month. Typically, I get what some might call...buyer's anxiety. With buyer's anxiety, you are more susceptible to buyer's remorse. Thus, creates our post for today.

Check out the adorable little chair we found at Home Goods. Ultimately it's perfect for my ideal bedroom/office. If you missed my bedroom tour, check it out here.

Alright, so what's my problem you ask??? It's basically my entire office area in my bedroom. The desk I love but it's dark compared to the rest of the furniture in my bedroom.

Ideally, I would love for my office area to look like this. Moodboards are great for giving you a glimpse into how you could decorate your space.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand...was this chair worth $130? It's cute and perfect, yes. However, should I have spent $130 on a chair? I'm having a horrible case of buyer's remorse. This chair would be the first piece in the ideal bedroom office I want. Help! Take it back? Keep it and continue pursuing this ideal office?

Take a Tour Tuesday + Mood Board

Do you see this beauty?! Yeah, that's mine! Hello beautiful dining room table *insert drooling here*.

I had taken several pictures of it in my dining room in my apartment, but the lighting was horrible and just didn't do it justice. It's the perfect size for my apartment too. I had all five members of my family eat on it for Christmas...It.Was.Awesome.

So...funny story with this bad boy...I had gone to World Market and saw it sitting in the middle of the display floor- just calling my name. I texted a picture to my sister asking her if it was worth $299.99 and she said no, so I left and went back to the apartment. Well, Chris was visiting and I was trying to describe this magnificent piece to him and he wasn't understanding what all my praise was for. I pulled up the World Market website and searched for it online. It was only $149.99 online! What?! I immediately make him get up and go back to the store with me. After talking to three different people, I convinced them to honor their online price and I got the last one-it was being discontinued! On top of that, I get up to the register with a 10% off coupon and walk out of there with this PERFECT dining room table for only $135. Shut the front door! I know. Be jealous.

Now that I've found my perfect dining room table, I decided to make another mood board for other ideal/future dining room purchases to go with my table. Check it out below. I decided not to include the links to these products this time. So if you'd like to know the price or designer of any of these, please let me know!

You best believe I'll have my married monogram on a platter! It's a southern thing.

Don't FORGET to enter the giveaway!
