Alright ladies! It's our first ever link up party! Grab a button, follow the hosts, link up, and meet some new peeps!

So, Lenae and I were looking at blogs and came across The Kinch Life and her memo board in her office. We decided to make one for Lenae's apartment this weekend. It was the easiest DIY project ever.

Supplies

1 picture frame-size of your choice
thumbtacks
clothespins
hemp string
hot glue gun/glue

Steps

1. If you buy a frame with a picture already in it...take it out or cut it out depending. Start with an empty frame.

2. Take the hemp string and tie a knot at the end. Use a thumbtack, stick the thumbtack through the knot, and into the side of the frame.
*note that Lenae's frame had a fabric frame inside the wood frame*

3. Lenae didn't want the string to be straight across, so she angled each one. It's up to you how you want your memos to hang. Make sure you push each string and thumbtack in before hot gluing them.

4. Again, before hot gluing them, consider if you would like to put any other items on the string. Lenae found some cute buttons at Joann's Fabrics and some even cuter paper clips. She hooked the paper clips into the buttons and then slid the buttons on the hemp.

5. Hot glue the thumbtacks into the frame to ensure they don't pull out under the weight. If you've added any buttons like Lenae did, hot glue those too. Once the hot glue dries, add the clothespins and your memos.

Voila! You're done! So easy!

What are you're Thursday Thoughts! Link up with Jamie and I every Thursday and write about anything you want while still being able to network with other bloggers. :)

Take a Tour Tuesday + Mood Board

Do you see this beauty?! Yeah, that's mine! Hello beautiful dining room table *insert drooling here*.

I had taken several pictures of it in my dining room in my apartment, but the lighting was horrible and just didn't do it justice. It's the perfect size for my apartment too. I had all five members of my family eat on it for Christmas...It.Was.Awesome.

So...funny story with this bad boy...I had gone to World Market and saw it sitting in the middle of the display floor- just calling my name. I texted a picture to my sister asking her if it was worth $299.99 and she said no, so I left and went back to the apartment. Well, Chris was visiting and I was trying to describe this magnificent piece to him and he wasn't understanding what all my praise was for. I pulled up the World Market website and searched for it online. It was only $149.99 online! What?! I immediately make him get up and go back to the store with me. After talking to three different people, I convinced them to honor their online price and I got the last one-it was being discontinued! On top of that, I get up to the register with a 10% off coupon and walk out of there with this PERFECT dining room table for only $135. Shut the front door! I know. Be jealous.

Now that I've found my perfect dining room table, I decided to make another mood board for other ideal/future dining room purchases to go with my table. Check it out below. I decided not to include the links to these products this time. So if you'd like to know the price or designer of any of these, please let me know!

You best believe I'll have my married monogram on a platter! It's a southern thing.

Don't FORGET to enter the giveaway!

Weekend Recap

Happy Monday! I don't know about y'all but I had an extremely productive weekend! I wrote out a nice little to-do list and finished everything on it. Holla!

Highlights:

Got my hair done...finally.
Cleaned/organized the entire apartment.
Started a fabulous giveaway! Check it out here!
Nae and I finished a craft project that will be a DIY later this week.
We went to Uptown Art for wine and painting!

If you haven't been to a place like this before, you're missing out! Nae's sister and brother in law own the Uptown Art here in town, but if you're interested in checking one out, look here to see if there's one in your area.

Basically, you pay a flat rate for a painting, on a day and class of your choosing, and when you show up, you can order wine or beer, as the teacher walks you through how to paint the painting.

Although this is not my favorite painting I've done-not really a horse person-, I LOVE going and it makes a great date night for any couple!

2. Write 11 facts about yourself once nominated
3. Answer the 11 questions from the person who nominated you
4. Come up with 11 questions for the 11 people you nominate

Facts about me:
1) I can lick my own elbow.
2) I used to play soccer on the Olympic Development Program team for the state of Arkansas.
3) I have moved three times in the last 12 months.
4) I don't want to brag..but I won best in show in my school's 6th grade art show

7) I talk to my cats like they are people.
8) I facetime with my mom almost every morning
9) Toby was found behin a Walmart and we rescued him
10) Chris bought me 40lbs of gummy bears last year for Valentines Day.
11) I had open heart surgery when I was a baby.

I actually had Chris answer these questions...so the first answer is his answer about me, and the second is what I really answered.
Questions From Kara:

1. Where did you grow up?

Lat/Lon:34°59 '10.3"N  092°02'33.8"W
MGRS: 15SWU8736871930
I grew up in a small town in Arkansas with the best family a girl could ever ask for. I was extremely blessed.

2. What do you do on a typical Thursday night?

Pray that the next day is a snow day and work gets cancelled.
True.

3. When was the last time you were hungover at work?
Unfortunately, never.
My job gives me enough headaches everyday, I do not need another one on top that.
True again.

4. If you could be any Disney character who would you be and why?
Mulan
I would be Cinderella-for obvious reasons-and because she gets to talk to her animals/pets/friends. :)

5. If you could change your name what would you change it to?
Obvious answer: Jaime Buehler
Secondary answer: "Lil Guy". Like "Pink" except just "lil guy"
Obvious answer is true.

6. What 3 things would you need to have if you were stranded on an island?
1) Satellite phone
2) toilet paper
3) Solar powered margarita maker-with the necessary ingredients:)
1 and 2 are pretty accurate. I think the last one I would want would probably be a toothbrush.

7. If you could punch anyone in the face who would it be and why?
Toby. He sucks.
"Whoever" dictates the raise in taxes. I hate that more money is taken out of everyone's hard-working pockets. You know who you are!

8. What is your favorite holiday?
My birthday
True. Or Christmas.

9. What is your favorite song?
Canon in D- Pachelbel
Get real...probably Dig Two by The Band Perry right now.

10. Where are you right now?
In my one bedroom apartment trying to figure out witty answers to these questions.
True.

11. Why did you become a blogger?

So I could give the world its greatest gift; my thoughts.
I wanted to express myself and network with other people similar to me. I love the people that I have had the chance to meet through blogging and, honestly, it is a good release/something to do. :) I really enjoy it. Plus I live away from my family/friends/boyfriend, therefore, this blog gives them a chance to see/hear what's going on in my life.

11 Questions for you

1) Who is your celebrity crush?
2) If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
3) Who has been the biggest role model in your life thus far, and why?

8) If you had $50 to buy a new shirt, jewelry or a new pair of shoes which would you buy?
9) Will the south rise again?
10) What is you favorite store and why?
11) Why did you decide start to blogging?

Must-Have Jewelry

Alright guys...let's talk about my 8 "must-have, staple" jewelry pieces for any outfit.

1. Every girl needs a simple, gold or silver, personalized necklace-whether it be a state love necklace or a monogrammed necklace. I wear this necklace with everyday outfits that don't require a statement necklace. The heart is located in the town Chris is currently living in. You can find a similar one here.
2. I am a HUGE fan of statement jewelry! I LOVE large necklaces that can be paired with simple tunics/outfits to give it just enough pop! This light green/mint necklace was a steal on Francesca's for only $24. I wear it with literally everything except black-- I have a couple other necklaces I wear with black. This one, however, is perfect for spring.

3. Simple earrings with a large necklace go a long way. I wholeheartedly believe you should only wear one large statement piece. These earrings match everything and you can wear them with nice/work/normal clothes. Find similar ones here. --I actually LOVE these similar ones and may order them--
4. I don't have an engagement/wedding ring...yet. **wink, wink Chris** Point of this comment, I wear "fashion" rings on each hand. Chris's grandma gave me this Pandora ring for Christmas last year and I wear it daily. It has a small diamond in the middle of yellow gold and the ring is sterling silver. I adore mixing metals. I think it is coming into style, therefore I love this ring.
*I would provide a link for you, but has anyone else noticed how ridiculous Pandora's site is to navigate??? If you have, you'll understand not providing the link.*
5. "My precioussssss"-insert Gollum picture here- faithful followers meet Kate Spade ring, Kate Spade ring meet faithful followers. If you can't tell, I love this beaut'! Is this not the most perfect everyday ring?! It's coated with gold and has a knot on the top of the ring. Pretty much anything Kate Spade gets me going. ;) You can find this bad boy here.

6. You can't go wrong with Pandora. (unless you're on their website) If you haven't invested in a Pandora bracelet, I highly advise you do so. I wear this everyday and, with the exception of three charms, have not spent a dime on this bracelet. Husbands, boyfriends, parents, friends, etc. all love this because it is a guaranteed go-to gift! Chris likes it because when Christmas rolls around, he knows he has a wishlist waiting for him at Pandora.

7. As a treat to myself for Christmas, I bought this Fossil watch. It's ahhh-mazing! The face is a huge boyfriend face with rose gold and it goes with everything! I'm all about buying things on the cheap, but you really can't get a good watch with a warranty on the cheap. You can find it here.

8. A couple Christmas's ago my brother got me this rose gold watch for only $40. It's a Relic watch from JCPenney. We all LOVE those Michael Kors watches, but you can get one that looks similar for 10x cheaper. Rose gold is huge right now and you really can't go wrong with a rose gold watch to wear daily. Find a similar one here.
