Yet again, I'm needing your help. I know, I've been needy in this whole wedding process, but I'd really like some non-bias advice on this entire thing.
So, I've posted pictures of potential wedding dresses, and as you can see, I decided to go with the one above! Loved the pockets and the price was unbeatable. With this dress in mind, we went bridesmaid dress shopping this weekend.
After trying on several, I think I've decided on the dress pictured first. The help I am needing is deciding which color should I go with. The suits will be grey and the two swatches I need to choose from are shown above.
Left side is Cantaloupe and the right side is Rose Petal. The Pinterest images are similar to the theme I'd like to go with. The rose petal might match a little better but the cantaloupe is more of a summer color.
Alright, now that you have a picture of the theme, which color do you think I should go with??? Cantaloupe or Rose Petal?
Don't forget to enter to win a custom blog design and $350 cash! Stay tuned for a HUGE announcement and giveaway tomorrow!
This weekend my friends and I went to Churchill Downs for Downs after Dark. The theme was red, white, and blue and for living in Louisville for over a year, this is the first time I've been to the horse races. It was awesome...except for the torrential downpour that started as we were walking in.
So, the entire reason I'm telling you about this is to tell you what happened the next morning. I had told Chris that I was going to Downs after Dark Saturday night and didn't elaborate on it at all.
Well, this is the conversation we had the next morning when he called me.
Chris: How was Downs after Dark?
Me: It was pretty fun.
Chris: Well, what all did you do?
Me: We got there, it was pouring but we had reserved seats so it wasn't a huge deal because they were covered by an awning. We got to bet on the races, but I didn't because I didn't take any cash with me. Lenae won a couple bucks though.
Chris: You bet on down syndrome kids racing each other?! (appalled)
Me: Wait, what? What are you talking about?
Chris: You said you were going to Downs after Dark, wasn't it some sort of benefit put on by the Down Syndrome Association?
Me: No Chris (laughing). Downs, as in Churchill Downs...the horse races. We bet on the horse races, not on kids.
Chris: Well, I was really proud of you for all of three seconds because I thought you were attending a Down Syndrome benefit, but then I hear you're betting on kids. Shame, shame.
Me: Sorry to disappoint you. (still laughing)
Hope that starts your Monday off right! I know it started my Sunday off right.
Stay tuned this week for multiple great giveaways and don't forget to follow via bloglovin' because GFC is now gone!
1. Got my birthday presents in from the fam! LOVE it! A new pair of tennis shoes, two shirts, and 7 pairs of shorts! Would you believe me if I told you my mom found all of those shorts for a mere $35?! True story.
2. Friday night girls' night! Wine and online shopping! Poor pocket book.
3. Saturday morning I went to the farmer's market and spent $12 on the best bottle of balsamic vinegar around. Seriously. Cranberry pear white balsamic vinegar. Nom, nom, nom.
4. My second StitchFix came in and I think I'm going to keep something in it this time. Post to come on my Fix.
5. Ordered one of the my engagement picture outfits while laying at the pool. With only a week to spare, I got it just in time.
6. So, Friday night we had the brilliant idea to put the wine bottles in the freezer to cool them quicker. Yeah...a little wine and online shopping later, I guess we forgot about it. Sunday morning I open the freezer and pull out a nice little wine slushy. Now, I don't want to drink it right now, but should I? All of you wine-o's, will it/has it already gone bad?
7. Church Sunday morning with my Bible and soon-to-be name :)--also includes lots of prayers that God heals my slushy wine bottle. Womp, womp.
This weekend Chris and I went to register for our wedding gifts at Target. We were each supplied with a scanning gun. We took off through the store, each going our separate ways. Two hours later, this is what we logged on to find...
(our explanations of each found below)
1. Alright so there may or may not be two cruiser bikes on our registry. I'd like to think that we would both get a lot of use out of these couples bikes, but let's get real. How much would we actually take these little beaut's out for a casual date on Saturday?...Answer: probably never. Will they remain on our registry?...Answer: Heck yes they will.
2. Who doesn't put a Kitchenaid mixer on their registry?! I'm no chef, but I'd really like to have a bright pink appliance to display as accent décor in my kitchen. Plus, when I have guests over, they might actually think the cupcakes I catered were handmade with that mixer. We call that a win, win.
3. Okay, this is a legit registry item. The Ninja blender is awesome. I know this because my parents have one. What makes it different, I'm not sure. What I am sure of is that when I try to blend a smoothie in the morning, my current blender smells like rust and I'm pretty sure I saw smoke coming out of it the other day.
4. I love this comforter from Target. It's simple and I can choose any accent colors to go along with it. Problem- I have two cats, one of which has chronic bowel problems. Poop on white doesn't make for the color scheme I'm going for.
5. Chris- "I don't need luggage, I already have my duffel bag."
Me- "I'm putting luggage on for the both of us."
Chris- "Why, I already have one?"
Me- "Your bag is fine, but I don't think customs would like a body sized duffel bag coming in and out."
And here's what Chris wound up with...(disclaimer:he wrote/posted this on his own)
1. I put the iron on my side of the registry for two reasons: (1) my iron broke in an unfortunate laundering accident three months ago, and (2) being in law school has made me realize that I will most likely have to iron my work clothes everyday for the rest of my life and dry cleaning bills add up quickly.
2. I put a Samsung 40" LED TV on my side of the registry mainly because it would be stupid not to. Everyone could use a new flat screen TV...when was the last time you heard someone say "damn, I have too many 40" flat screen TVs." The answer is never.
3. The first item I personally added to our wedding registry was 4 rolls of contractor strength duct tape. This is because during my short time on earth I have discovered a universal truth: if you cannot fix it with duct tape, you're not trying hard enough. Also, Jaime's crafting projects use an ungodly amount of my duct tape supply.
4. The reason for my addition of an X-box 360 is simple: I am a huge closet nerd and occasionally like to come home and de-stress by playing Call of Duty and killing some zombies.
5. I added the grill because living with male 20-something year old roommates my entire adult life, has made me realize that grills are awesome for two reason: (1) they require no clean up, and (2) usually involve the drinking of beer. Two things I'm always okay with.
Married? What did you put on your registry? Not married? What would you put on your registry?
This weekend I went and tried on a couple dresses. The designer, Jenny Yoo, isn't sold anywhere in Arkansas or Kansas, so I needed to try it on this weekend.
Please cast your vote on your favorite! I was liking the last two, but I'd really like to hear your thoughts. The wedding will be in a little southern chapel and will be centered around family and fun (a little less formality).
What did Chris and I do this weekend? Well, let's see...we went and saw a couple movies; one of which was Spring Breakers.
The previews for this movie made it appear to run the same lines as the movie Savages with Blake Lively.
Chris and I thought, "what the heck, let's go see a couple movies on Saturday and Spring Breaker's looks pretty good." Little did we know.
All the reviews for this movie said that it was James Franco's best performance yet and that the Disney girls have "gone wild." Let's just say only one of those are true.
In order for you to understand the disappointment and resentment in spending a whopping $6.75 for a ticket, I will summarize the entire movie for you.
1. Starts with about 15 minutes of spring break "girls gone wild" footage. Ladies, if you have a significant other, you will spend the duration of the movie resisting the impulse to cover his eyes.
2. Four trashy girls decide to rob a restaurant for money for spring break. Then, because of the "artistic" direction of the movie, everything that was said was repeated throughout the movie.
3. Drugs, alcohol, nudity, and cursing were the focal point of this movie. Between that and Vanessa Hudgens hair screaming to get her roots touched up, there wasn't much more for you to focus on.
4. They spend their money on scooters, so when they get arrested, they have no money for bail. Scooters?! Disney much?
5. Creepy drug dealer (James Franco) bails them out, sends Selena Gomez home, gets pink haired girl shot, and screws Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Benson in a pool...together...for five minutes.
6. In retaliation to pink haired girl getting shot, Vanessa, Ashley, and James go on a killing spree of the opposing drug dealer. James is shot by the first guy they see. Ashley and Vanessa then continue on killing all 25 people at the house each using a pistol. I mean, I'm no gun expert but I'm pretty sure they didn't have enough bullets for that...but what do I know.
7. If this wasn't enough, the entire movie consisted of snip-its of "girls gone wild" footage, James Franco saying "Spring break forever", and weird lighting clips that would only be acceptable if you were high or drunk while watching.
Why am I telling you all of this? We had people walk out of the theater. We stayed because we had paid to see it. If you were even considering going to watch this movie, DON'T! I'm just trying to save you the money, time, and water bill you will incur from trying to clean yourselves from the disgust you will pick up from watching it.
Hope this helps you make an informed decision prior to spending the money at the theaters.
I was definitely that girl this weekend! I haven't really gone shopping since the first of the year...shocking, I know. Needless to say I had a lot of catching up to do.
Y'all are in luck today! I'm going to share my amazing shopping deals I got this weekend and Francesca's and The Limited. I'm going to post the ticket prices first and then how much I got them for.

2. Navy military jacket- $78 -> $19.98
3. White peplum top- $34 -> $34

Next up...The Limited.
Both of these Exact Stretch Cropped slacks are from The Limited and are now happily adopted and settling in nicely to my closet.
They were having a BOGO free pant, jacket, or skirt this weekend. If you saw the package my sister had sent me last week, you would remember the $20 off coupon she sent me for The Limited.
I was sure if they would let me use the coupon with the BOGO deal, but they did!
I walked out of there with two pairs of slacks, originally $54.90 each, for just $37 total!
Let's recap because I'm sure you're having a hernia right now...I was. Two pairs of slacks, a military jacket, white blazer, peplum top, and two blouses for roughly $165.
I don't know about you, but I was thoroughly impressed with my deals.
What did you do this weekend? What amazing deals did you come across?
